The third installment of our famed ICE League series is on the horizon. Are you ready for “the search for the perfect ascent”?
Starting on June 5, this iteration of the famed ICE League is a redpoint format event. Climbs must be completed from the ground up without falling and signed off by a peer witness or staff member who observed you on the climb. New problems and routes are set on Monday/Tuesday and eligible for points starting Wednesday each week. There are exceptions on June 26 and July 24 when special mid-season and on-sight finals events will be held the following Sundays, respectively.
We are also introducing (what we hope will be) three awesome improvements over previous seasons. Rather than assigning a point value to a climb based on its relative difficulty, every climb will be worth one point each. Additionally, instead of requiring you to be here on Wednesday nights to participate in the league, scorecards will be available on-demand to allow you to check off completed climbs at any time. Finally, two additional categories have been added this season: Youth (17 years & younger) & Masters (40 years & older).
