We are forming the Southeastern Virginia Climbers Association. We have several tasks to include: gain access to new climbing areas (private land and public land), re-access closed crags and maintain the crags for future use. Mel and the crew at the VB Rock Gym are behind the new association and providing support. Members will be required to follow the rule and regulations of the association (will be posted at a later date) , donate time to trail/crag maintenance (on both public and private land)and pay a small membership due. This will allow members access to climbing areas on private land. It is the goal to have the areas developed to be open to all climbers in the future. There are several areas in western Virginia that are being researched for access. What we need is members that are willing to donate a small amount of time and money to have close to home, fun routes. A sign up sheet should appear soon at the gym along with the rule and regs governing the association. This is the time to develope great climbing in Virginia.
